What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a condition that causes the skin to appear dimpled or lumpy. It usually affects your buttocks and/or thighs, but can also appear in other areas, like your arms and tummy. Cellulite occurs when a decrease in circulation causes fat cells to become engorged. When these pockets of fat push up against the anchoring connective tissue, it causes a dimple.
Water retention and inflammation also increase the upward pressure. Unfortunately, over 90% of women between the ages of 19 and 60, and 10% of men, are affected by cellulite. It can have a significant effect on a person’s quality of life which impacts self-confidence, activity choices, and clothing styles.
What can I do to reduce the appearance of cellulite?
According to the Mayo Clinic, the most promising medical treatment for cellulite is one that employs radiofrequency (RF) energy. At Aesthetic Assets, we use the PelleFirmⓇ Body System which is a noninvasive cellulite treatment that combines RF with massage to deeply heat the tissues and temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. The heated massage facilitates the movement of fluids which are then naturally removed by your lymphatic system.
What to expect with PelleFirm
PelleFirm is a comfortable, safe procedure that requires no downtime. Our patients report that it feels like a hot stone massage. You can get back to your life and return to your normal activities immediately after your treatment. We recommend a series of 5 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart for visible results, with touch-ups every 6 months.

What can I do to maintain my results?
While diet and exercise may help to reduce the appearance of cellulite, we’ve seen some super-fit women with a low body mass index who still suffer with dimples on their booty or thighs. In fact, it’s not uncommon for young, athletic women to have degrees of cellulite.
If you’re looking for a little boost in your energy and fat-burning metabolism, we suggest trying a B12 + MIC shot once or twice a week. B12 offers energy promoting properties while the amino acids found in MIC assist in breaking down fat in the liver, which aids in the metabolism of fat through the body. Many of our VIP members come in once a week for a B12 + MIC shot.
